LUKE RENCHER- HEAD TENNIS PROFESSIONAL
Luke grew up in Eugene, Oregon getting crushed for many years by his grandfather, a Southern Oregon State Junior Champion; It was a great motivator to want to improve. Luke became a district champion in high school and was named by his high school coach Archie Dunsmoor as his all time number 1 player over his 40 year coaching career.
Luke played for University of Oregon, where he learned the value of coaching and continued to improve. He achieved UofO’s second best All Time Singles Season record, and earned Most Inspirational Player award and Hardest Worker award.
Luke worked as Head Professional at Tompkins Tennis International CA, a top academy on the west coast, and Head Pro at Tiburon Peninsula Club CA, a premier club. He was also Director of Tennis at Lifetime Activities CA and Head Pro at Umpqua Valley Tennis Center OR.
Luke relocated to Kansas to be the Mens and Womens Head Tennis Coach at Tabor College. He coached both teams to their best seasons in the school’s history. In addition, Luke assists in coaching Megan McCray on the professional WTA/ITF circuit.
Luke comes to Evergreen Tennis with a depth of experience in management, programs, and team development. He brings energy, excellent communication skills, and desire to make an impact at the club. He oversees aspects of instruction and organized competitive play at Evergreen Tennis. Luke enjoys reading biographies and spending time with his wife and two kids.
