Sophie, a native of the Netherlands, has been playing tennis since she could walk. Sophie’s young professional career enabled her to travel and play in France, Belgium and Germany, exposing her to a variety of coaches and players. At the age of 16 she was ranked 18th in women’s doubles in the Netherlands.
Sophie moved to the United States in 2012 and later transferred to the University of Portland where she received a full scholarship. Her knowledge and experience helped her not only at playing the game but also coaching players through the University programs. Sophie excelled both on and off the court, receiving MVP and senior leadership awards.
Since graduation in 2015, she has been involved in USTA Mixed 10.0 league and Women 5.0 teams. Sophie continues to play in as many tournaments around the region as possible.
Receiving her USPTA Pro certification has been an achievement that motivates Sophie to bring the best of her growing experience and instruction to players.
Besides tennis, Sophie loves anything involved with fitness and sports, and she loves to go for hikes in the scenic Pacific Northwest.
