Emory has enjoyed tennis dating back to his days growing up in Louisiana when playing with his dad and brother. Though the tennis community was extremely small in the bayou outside of New Orleans, the times on court instilled a deep fever for the game.
Emory attended Trinity International College located in Miami, FL where he earned his degree in Physical Education. During his time in school, he played collegiate tennis and soccer. While in Miami, he obtained his USPTR P-1 teaching certification and began teaching professionally in south Florida at the Tamiami Tennis Center.
Before making his move to Evergreen Tennis, Emory was an instructor at several tennis facilities and was a PE teacher at many elementary and secondary schools. The mixture of those educational venues has provided a wealth of experience in planning programs, creating nd implementing curriculum, mentoring assistant pros, and instructing/coaching a wide variety of lesson formats.
During his time off court, Emory is an avid dabbler in creating a natural habitat with his yard at home. This includes a very large pond which has become his favorite project.
